Susan Brooke Thompson
Susan concentrates her practice primarily on the representation of financial institutions, private debt and equity lenders, investment bankers and borrowers in real estate and commercial financial transactions, including loan documentation, acquisitions and dispositions, commercial leasing, loan sales, asset-based lending, inter-creditor finance structuring, public finance, work-outs, settlements, special assets and various banking matters. Susan's experience also includes construction, hospitality and mezzanine financing, private placements, corporate governance and general corporate affairs.
Prior to entering into private practice, Susan served as in-house counsel for a California state chartered bank, documenting and negotiating complex financial transactions, handling special assets, foreclosures, REO sales, loan workouts, loan sales and settlements, providing regulatory advice and assisting with general legal and compliance matters.

Makani Hiltner - Firm Operations Manager
Makani began working as an administrative assistant at Brooke Thompson Law in 2021, and has since worked closely with Susan to coordinate client intake, case file organization, document preparation and management, client communications, implementation of firm policies, administration of operations and procedures and provision of general administrative support for the firm.
Makani is currently attending Oregon State University, pursuing a double B.S. in Outdoor Products and Sustainability, and has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout his time at OSU. For the past three years, he has also worked weekends at Mt. Bachelor, and spends his free time skiing, running and biking.
